Professional registrationI qualified as a psychotherapist on the Jungian side of the British Association of Psychotherapists in 1995. Through further study and training I became a senior member of the same organisation in 2006.I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy which is widely recognised as the umbrella organsition for psychotherapy. I am also registered with the The British Psychoanlytic Council which is a registering body for therapists who have particularly trained to do intensive and in-depth work.I am also a member of International Association of Analytical Psychologists which is an international organisation for Jungian analysts. I have been professionally involved in the world of counselling for some years and I am a senior accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.. I am also a fellow of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.. Recently I completed a training in Schema Therapy with the Schema Therapy Institute of New York and in 2009 I became a certified Schema Therapist, registered with the International Society of Schema Therapy. Schema focussed therapy is aimed at modifying deeply embedded patterns of perceiving and relating from childhood, but it employs interventions drawn from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt Therapy as well as Attachment oriented therapy. Like most modern therapists, I am influenced by a number of theoretical paradigms, which is reflected in a variety of shorter courses and qualifications I have completed. I am a registered social worker, I have undertaken a range of courses relevant to attachment based therapy and I have also completed trainings relevant to group psychotherapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, systemic family therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. |
